What are you going to be when you grow up?
This is something you’re asked as a young kid. I continued to ask myself that as an
adult. I always thought I wanted to be in management, so I went to college and got a
degree in business. I found it didn’t make me happy and I wanted something else. It
took years to find my happy place.
Scrolling through Facebook I saw painting videos for Dixie Belle paint and I thought I
could do that. Afterall, when my husband and I first got married we would build and
paint furniture as well as make crafts for flea markets. Then life happens and more
important commitments take priority. We have always had a love for vintage and
antique furniture where we restored it to its original condition, now we have more
options to make furniture come to life again. It has been two years since becoming a
Dixie Bell Retailer and I love what I do, I look forward to what each new day brings.
My husband has always had a love of woodworking and has advanced from repairing,
sanding, storing and moving my furniture to building his own designs. He would love to
quit his full-time job to do woodworking full-time. Hopefully he will have the opportunity
in the near future.
My daughter helps with the social media aspect when she can. Technology is not my
friend. Lol
It’s never too late to follow your dreams!
